Free shopping areas are everywhere. Shopping
at the Straw Market is fun and bartering is expected.
You can also shop poolside at the villa.
Local ladies will carry their wares on their heads in baskets, for you to
look at, only if you wish.
They are very polite and will ask
permission before coming onto the villa grounds. Your staff will advise
them whether you do not wish to be disturbed. You may also have
tailored clothing made and delivered to you the next day.
Etc.:
*All drinking water is filtered/purified by modern methods.
*Time zone is Eastern Standard. Jamaica
does not change their clocks.
*Since late evenings and early mornings may
be cool, a sweater is suggested.
*Electrical
system - 110 volts 50 cycles (US is 60 cycles). Shavers, blow dryers, laptops
etc. will function properly yet clocks may not.
*Water
Pressure & Hot Water: More than likely the pressure will be normal.
During periods of drought the
pressure may become low. This is
most noticeable with large groups of

brief.
This may also true for hot water with larger parties of guests. We
apologize for the inconvenience.
